I realize I really need to pull it together and start posting, after having Jenny send me e-mails reminding me that I'm being a shiftless layabout.

Has anybody been playing with this format. Our play group has been having a lot of fun with it lately. My decks are AWFUL but, it's still fun.
What are your generals? Any other thoughts on the format?

I've got a Braids (blue), Savra, I used to have a Teneb (which had no synergy but seemed to RULE because Teneb RULES), and I just tried to build a Cromat deck but, it's sooooo bad. It started with 8 bounce lands and all the signets (OOF!). I'm going to try to re-tool that today.

Brian (DragonOfLaw) tried to get the main dorks to do it, but only Chewie and I built EDH decks. I didn't have mine when the three of us played it, but you can find a brief recap of that incident on episode 87 (I think). Anyway, my wo EDH decks are built around Ascendant Evincar and Commander Eesha. I really wanted to do multicolor generals, but it turns out that I only have one or two multicolored legends out of my entire massive collection of Magic cards. Weird...

Oh yeah but, I bet that "Ascendant Evincar" deck was really fun! I mean, my saprolings HAAATE that guy, (well, pre-Sigil Captain) so he must be fun!

yeah i have 2, and my brother has 2 too (tutu?)... i have a Merieke Ri Berit EDH, which mainly gains control/kills my opponent's creatures by untapping her, and a Sakashima the Impostor EDH-- just basic blue control, with Shared Fate and Fate Spinner and other multiplayer hijinks cards. No synergy too. hahaha

my brother uses Jhoira of the Ghitu (sound familiar, Chewie?) as a general, and a Radha RG Stompy.

Good timing, I am going through my stuff today to finish off a Sharuum EDH deck. This deck could be absurd if I had more mirrodin stuff.

I also have a Rhys, the Redeemed doubling season/tokens deck that isn't very good but is tons o' fun.

I'm still building my Jhoira of the Ghitu deck. I have like 120 cards, and I'm having trouble trimming it down cause they're all really good for the deck. =(

I love this format. It makes for some of the strangest situations I've ever come across. I have two decks, one with Jenara, and one with Savra. Savra allows for some wicked recursion stuff that can get pretty wild sometimes. I keep seeing people running Sliver Queen EDH decks. Just a small rant here. USE THE OVERLORD!!!!! He can find the Queen. Ohh, foot temporarily in mouth til I find out if he is banned. Rant off . Anyway EDH is good stuf and I believe anyone who plays magic at least needs to try this format once!

Yeah, I feel like kind of a jerk when i play it, but i have an Azami, Lady of Infinite Card Advantage deck. It is combo control and has a very difficult time winning in both multiplayer and duels. The gist is to combo into all of my creatures on the battlefield with a hand full of counter and bounce. SWARM!!! it is impossible to deck yourself and you wind up with lots of little guys and a few huge ones while opponents literally have nothing in play. (Innundate for the win) I'll post a list at some point.

just finished the BEST game of EDH i have ever played! I was playing Sakashima the Impostor as my general, and my brother was playing Jhoira of the Ghitu as his.
as he removed the last time counter on his suspended Aeon Chronicler, i Hindered it and sent it to the bottom of his library. His Arc Blade resolves, and he cast 2 more artifacts and then casts Ignite Memories with a storm count of 5. I had 6 cards in hand, with a Brine Elemental, Commandeer, and Tunnel Vision(!!!) among them. I dumped Brine Elemental using Dreamscape Artist, removed two other cards and Commandeered one of the Ignites. he revealed Mindblaze (!!!), burning him for 6. His other Ignites resolve (with me having 2 cards in hand-- Tunnel Vision and Mind Spring), hitting the Vision THRICE, thus burning me for 20!!! I ended up at 9 life, then swung with a 3/3 creature, bringing me down to 6.
My turn, i cast Tunnel Vision naming Aeon Chronicler (which i sent to the bottom of his library with Hinder), thus milling him for his whole freaking deck!
His turn, He drew the last card in his deck, and MINDBLAZES me for the kill!

Yessss... Man, maybe I should make a deck for this and try to find people to play with, it sounds like a real wild ride.

so none of the other dorks play EDH? it's a good way to play with the cards that are cool and splashy, but just gather dust in your binder. I know you have a lot of those, Mike.

I have a deck built around Horde of Notions and Phelddagrif. I play at a shop on Tampa where Sheldon Menery plays on ocassions. Sheldon is the Level 5 judge who pushed EDH to the Lime Light.

Our playgroup decided to play EDH as well. My first deck will feature Doran as a general. I also considered Teneb, because he seems cool. Maybe I will switch in the future. Also Kresh the Bloodbraided was a possibility, but it seems he's a bit to competitive.

I have one EDH deck built with another one in the works. The one I have now is Wort, Boggart Auntie, and it sucks. The one in the works is gonna be Zur, dealing with lots of cheap enchantments.
