Interview was great, it had Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt as a pair of vampires. Antonio Banderas too. Aw yeah!

Wow. I like Banderas. Not quite as much as Morgan Freeman or Sean Connery. Yeah, they're my favorite actors EVER.

Interview with a Vampire stars Bradd Pitt, Tom Cruise, Christian Slater, Antonio Banderas, and Kirsten Dunst. That movie is packed to the brim with star power. Even if the plot sucked (which it doesn't), the stars alone could carry the movie.

I think that you have taken a lot of these podcasts out of context.

Since some of the reasons that Wizards was making the change was for the people who play wrong at home because the game is hard to learn and does not behave as someone would intuit. When they go to their first tournament and the rules do not act as they thought they should those peeple walk away from the gam completely.
The above was brought up by Wizards and all of the comments you were refering to were in response to that point by Wizards these comments were not designed to encoumpass all casual players. These comments were designed to to answer specific cases that Wizards brought up.

Additionaly these guys are obviously going to be woried about how the rules interact with tournaments that what they talk about.

Only 53 min in to the cast but needed to post this.

I am posting this on multiple places and emailing it to you.

-Sorry for disrupting your opening ramblings with my signing on Skype while you guys were recording, but I had just finished playing a bit of Duels of the Planeswalkers and I had promised Chewie that I’d get him my impressions of the game ASAP. I would have loved to hop on the show, but I had dinner plans with my wife (who had been waiting somewhat patiently while I tested the new game).

-Man, I am really annoyed with those “pro” comments. But this goes to why I really don’t pay attention to tournament coverage other than looking at deck lists every couple of months to see if anything original is emerging. It’s just sad that these people who are supposed to be the celebrities of Magic are acting all stuck-up about casual players.

-I love enemy color decks. One of my favorite combos is green-black because of the combo of control and aggro cards. Like my Lhurgoyf deck. :-)

-Favorite Card – I don’t have any particular favorite card, but I’d say that Ageless Entity is one of my top favorites. It takes life gain and uses it to smash your opponent (especially when the Entity is given trample and lifelink – HELLO Loxodon Warhammer or Behemoth Sledge).

-Favorite Moment – In one of my earliest games with the dorks (back when I was playing with a bunch of 5th edition and Mirage cards that I had from when I dabbled in Magic in middle school), I had an Ironclaw Orcs out and was just attacking people for the hell of it. Eventually most people had blockers and I realized that I would not last much longer so I decided to hit one more person with the Orcs. Unfortunately he had a blocker. So I played Jump (one blue mana cost instant to give a creature flying until end of turn) on it and jaws around the table dropped. “Did you just Jump an Ironclaw Orc?” “Why yes, yes I did, now take 2.” Thankfully, I got more cards soon afterwards.

-And I actually remember Brian’s story about the Biorhythm and the massive game. *shudder*

-Duels of the Planeswalkers is an awesome game. I’ve unlocked several of the full decks and half of most of the others. My favorite deck is the Sarkhan Vol deck, because of all the fun Timmy cards (DRAGONS!!), but the Nissa Revane deck is the most efficient so far. If anyone ever wants to play, my Xbox Live gamertag is Hambone83. Feel free to send me a friend request, just like Chewie’s offer.

-Divine vs. Demonic – I remember thinking (and I might have said on the forum) that the decks did not look balanced at all. Meh. And it sounds like all of the cards I would have suggested were already covered in your analysis.

Actually AJ, it was a Hulking Goblin you Jumped. A 2/2 that can't block. Funniest thing ever.

That was epic. Now I'm going to listen to the 2.5 hours of M10 changes rant.

Ah yes, the Hulking Goblin. I had forgotten which creature, but I remembered that it was a weird little red guy. Ah, back in the day when I had random cards that would make people laugh and feel bad for killing me. :D

I found it iteresting that in the m10 rules episode that in several places you all talked about learning how the rules worked at FNM's or other tournaments. You railed in this episode against one of the ways you advanced your rules knowlege.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean. That's not me trying to insult you, I'm just not sure what specifically we were railing against. If you're talking about going to FNMs or tournaments to learn how to play, I believe that Chewie was more railing against certain people and their comments. True, those people are usually associated with the tournament scene, but he/we weren't trying to diss tournaments themselves. I like playing compeditively (or trying anyway  ) and have been known to attend random FNMs/States/PTQs etc. He also wasn't talking even about tournament players in general, just those particular people that had made the comments that he disagreed with.

Clearly, from your posts here and elsewhere, this episode struck a chord/nerve with you. I personally like getting all sorts of feedback; it helps us figure out what the listeners feel about our shows. I'm sure that you as a fellow cast-er also enjoy getting the listener responses and know the value of constructive criticism (sp?). If there's anything else about this episode that you want to say, or if I/we haven't addressed it to your satisfaction, I would encourage you to keep posting on this thread.

Anybody else have any thoughts on this subject, by the way?

Ok.. this has been an interesting flow of comments... LOL. However, if you plan to let yourselves change the Demonic/Angel decks into something more interesting, might I suggest going 2 colors on both? Several demons and angels are in the gold realm.. But, if I know anything, I won't be right enough to warrant an influence. Compelling thought tho.

oh...it got weird alright.....

I mean, it was a weird dream but I think it's just that I was thinking about all things MTG too much. It, actually, didn't get too weird between anybody. It just got weird for me but, not me and anybody else. I never have dreams like "that," much to my dismay. I'm sorry to let Chewie down!

Also, sorry for the three intro posts! I SAID WHOOPS! haha

Well now I'm all disappointed. Here I was hoping for something at least a little bit kinky. Oh well.

Well although I do agree that alot of Connelys comments were a bit off base, I do agree with them as well that the pro scene has been getting hosed lately. Just because you guys dont want to be pro players, some of are those guys who would love to "Q" for the pro tour and have a chance to make money at the game we love so much. Truthfully I think this rivalry between the pro and casual players is just all around really dumb. Its like the rivalry between XBOX fans and PLAYSTATION fans. Let the nerd rage ensue.
