I'd love this episode.

For out of the deck box (Since it seems to have restarted), can we hear about Mike's W/U super control deck (That Damn Arbiter!) and Brian's Teferi's puzzle box deck? Since I want to build both.

Maybe it's cool to do some kind of budget deckbuilding challenge with all the listeners. Just like the Duel decks competition.
Currently I'm in a budget deck challenge with my colleagues as well And there are some very creative decks built!

How about this: in the vein of your Set Review, how about a Where Are They Now segment. You take the preview cards from a recent Magic set and see how much play they see now versus how excited people were about them when they were first revealed. What cards were really hyped up that never found its way into any decks, and what cards did you think looked kinda meh that changed the format forever. That sort of thing.

Ah, good idea, cards like Lord of Extinction. Which was expected to be the new Tarmogoyf.

That was exactly what inspired me for this segment.
Also, I managed to open a foil Lord of Extinction in a recent casual draft. Fun times.

For an episode, when the new premium sliver deck comes out here shortly: you all could create a deck list of the best sliver deck you could make. Then when the actual sliver deck comes out you can compare all of your decks to the Wizards version.

Post Zendikar, you should comment on the cards you guys are going to miss, like you did with Timespiral block and coldsnap.

You guys have never done an entire episode about drafting. What do you think of the new Magic the Draft simulator? What kind of draft do you prefer? winston? open and pass? What do you look for? How do you decided which color(s) to play? All time favorite draft cards? Do you look for different things for multiplayer vs. 2 player? what specifically? any great stories of epic drafts? do you draft differently at home then you would at a release?etc...

Here is an epic draft for you. I was doing a six-man rochester of Alara Reborn, 18 total packs. I ended up being the only Jund drafter, there were 2 Bant, 2 Esper, and an everything but black deck as the other drafters. I ended the draft with 2 Bloodbraid Elf, 2 Terminate, 1 Bituminous Blast, 2 Vithian Renegades, two borderposts, a pair of Mage Slayers, and a Demonspine Whip. The best part of the draft was when everybody started realizing how good the deck that I had drafted was turning out to be. There was one pack where the first and second pick went to the two Esper drafters. Respectively, they picked Dragon Broodmother and Bloodbraid Elf. I could not help but laugh at how obvious those hate drafts were.

I thought of this idea a couple of days ago, but then immediately dismissed it. However, I figure I might as well post it :/. I was thinking of making an art episode, where you guys explore the coolest artists / art. It probably wouldn't take very long, so it'd be a quickie. Just an idea

What strategies do you guys use in the average multiplayer game?

Usually during a game, a player needs to have multiple tools to use as measuring sticks to try and help them sort out how to win the game. With 3-4-5 or more players, there are so many small interactions taking place, that it gets pretty confusing as to how one should balance or control everything that is going on. Some of the issues players may face are: predicting opponents, reading hands, understanding others strategies, translating table talk, building and breaking alliances, player experience, knowledge of past game play, current board strength, personality quirks, intimidation, manipulation, misinformation, bullying, slow playing, or flying under the radar. There are so many things players have to keep track of, that it could be cool to hear how you guys handle it all.

Ooo, that's a good one. The universal answer, while I'm here, is going to be "It depends on what deck I'm playing". I'll get with the guys and see what they think.

Quick Guide to the Mana Pool dorks:
Intimidation = Dirk: "Don't attack me or I will destroy you."
Understanding others' strategies = "He played a Grand Coliseum, oh crap he's playing Slivers! Quick, kill him!"
Building Alliances = "Chewie, if you don't kill me now, I'll be nice and save you for last."
Flying Under the Radar = "Why on earth does Brian have so many creatures in his graveyard, ON PURPOSE? Wait, is he playing a Mortal Combat deck?!?!?"

Maybe for big, thoughtful discussions, such as Standard Rotations, the Land episode, the milling episode or the various "for n00bs" episodes (back to basics, multiplayer tips), you should post a topic on the forums beforehand to allow people to weigh in or send in opinions on the topic. I can understand why you might not (with such a wide range of listeners, it'd be very chaotic and might be hard to fit into the show), but one of the other podcasts I listen to, Control Point, requested that their listeners send them in tips and tricks for the various topics they were discussing and I really liked it.

Just wanted to see what you think of something before, rather than people just weighing in afterwords. I know you did that for the first Standard Rotation episode and that was good.
