Glad to see you finally believe I'm neither Ben or a guy. I just need some tips for deck-building. Ben may be a freaking walking encyclopedia, but I'd like to have a podcast that I can go back to. But I'm sure he would love it if he guested.
Thank you all! Can't wait for the next episode!

Yes. Yes I would. Always. And Em, if you want the deck building episode, it's Episode 18- some Useful Information.

But for a show I'd really love to see, it'd have to be the "what slivers are really like" show. I know that you said it in jest in one of the ARB preview episodes, but I seriously think that'd be really funny and I'd love to hear it. I'd even do some notes of my own about them and send it in for that. Maybe not all the slivers, but just one or two for each of the hosts. I laughed so hard when you guys discussed it briefly and I'd love to hear more.

Oh goody. That'll give me something to do tomorrow as my school is being disinfected. Any other suggestions for good n00b episodes?
I'm just now realizing that I could just call you or talk to you on facebook, but I'm way too lazy to do that.

The Lord of the Rings TCG is/was a card game that came out around the same time as the trilogy. It was pretty fun and it had its similarities to Magic, but with some key differences. Like you played as both Fellowship and Shadow alternating (you are a Fellowship player while your opponent is Shadow for a turn, then swap, etc). There were also location cards that determined some aspect of the turn you played. That's what the Planechase kind of reminds me (and some of the others) of when Wizards describes it.

One of the first issues of InQuest that I ever got came with a pull-out map that showed the regions used as special-condition battlefields for a "campaign" variant of the game. The objective being kind of like Risk or something (I can't remember exactly). I think it's still back at my parents' house somewhere, as I'm pretty sure that I saved every one of my InQuests back then.

I don't think this idea could be for an entire show, but maybe just a segment. What about talking about the real life mythology from which cards are based? The only reason I bring this up was because I was reading about 1001 Arabian Nights, from which the original Arabian Nights expansion was based. After some light reading, I came across an article about a young woman named Shahrazad (sound familiar?). Theres an interesting story involving a lot of murder about this woman that makes sense of the effect that the sorcery card had in the actual game. This is just one example, but maybe other cards have interesting real world backgrounds, especially from the early sets.

That'd be very cool. Yeah, the earlier sets did have a lot of mythological bases in them.

Wow, I have not been on in a month. Jeez.
But anyway, the whole story-behind-the-card thing sounds like an excellent idea, and I would love to hear it IRL. Just thought I would throw that out there.
